The idea behind our tools

Tell it once. It stays told.

Running a business means keeping track of promises. A price quoted in a chat. A parcel promised for Friday. Money a customer will pay next week. A decision made in Monday’s meeting. Our tools keep each one where it was made, so nobody has to remember it or type it in twice.

For example (fictional):

  • In the books · Purja

    A customer still owes Rs 3,200 from last month. Purja keeps their khata and shows how long it has been.

  • In the chat · Jimmaa

    Someone at the shop offers a customer a lower price. Jimmaa keeps that price for that customer. It never treats it as the shop’s price.

  • In the meeting · Lamp Capture, early access

    Someone agrees to send the samples by Friday. Lamp Capture notes who promised it, so it can come up at the next meeting.

Jimmaa जिम्मा

Sell through DMs and keep every order moving. Jimmaa reads the shop’s products, prices and stock, prepares the reply, turns a customer’s yes into an order and keeps track of delivery. The shop decides what the customer sees.

Shared inbox
Instagram messages and comments, Facebook Messenger, Viber and the shop’s own page, in one queue for the whole team. Instagram and Messenger are opening to shops now; WhatsApp is on the way.
Replies from the shop’s own facts
Replies prepared from the shop’s products, prices, stock and policies, in Nepali, romanised Nepali or English. Nothing reaches a customer unless a person approved it or a rule the shop set allows it.
Orders from chat
A customer’s yes becomes an order and holds the item. The phone number and address can follow.
Delivery and cash
Book the courier, follow the parcel and keep track of the cash on delivery.

Lamp Capture

Early access

Lamp Capture remembers what happened in your meetings. It records online calls today. A recorder for meetings in the room is in development. It then writes down the decisions, who promised what and by when, and what is still open.

Early access. We are opening it to a few teams first.

Lamp Capture works on its own. You do not need Purja or Jimmaa to use it.

A Mac app records your microphone and the call’s sound, on Meet, Zoom, Teams or WhatsApp desktop. No bot joins the meeting.

Purja keeps a business’s books: the bill, the payment, the khata and the stock. Jimmaa keeps its conversations: the customer, the chat, the order and the parcel. Connect them, and an order Jimmaa dispatches gets its bill in Purja. We are rolling this out with our first shops.

Lamp Capture keeps what the team decided and promised in meetings. It works on its own.

Each product has its own sign-in and keeps its own records. Jimmaa and Purja share information only when you connect them.

About Lamp

A software company in Kathmandu.

We are a small team in Kathmandu building software for businesses. We started with billing and inventory, because sales, stock and payments have to agree before the reports are useful. Jimmaa followed, because for many shops here the sale itself happens in a DM. Lamp Capture came next, because what a team decides in a meeting is the easiest thing to lose.

Purja accounts for rupees and paisa, Nepali fiscal years, cash sales and credit sales. These are part of the product, not settings a merchant has to work around.
